Thailand's Standards for Rice

I. Thai Hom Mali Rice (Mandatory standard)

Brown rice and White rice processed from Kao Dok Mali 105 and RD 15 paddies.
Cooked Thai Hom Mali Rice is well-known for its especially tender texture and unique natural aroma, the latter of which depends on crop year. Compliance with this standard is required for obtaining the Thai Hom Mali Rice certification mark.

Purity of at least 92.0%
Moisture content not exceeding 14.00%

II. Thai Jasmine Rice, Thai Fragrant Rice, Thai Aromatic Rice (Voluntary standard)

Brown rice and White rice processed from fragrant rice varieties. When cooked, they yield tender texture and natural aroma, the latter of which depends on crop year.

Purity of at least 80.0%
Moisture content not exceeding 14.00%

III. Standards for Rice Products (Voluntary standard)

Standards for white rice, brown rice, white glutinous rice, and parboiled rice, all of which have recently been revised to keep them current for the marketplace. The revised standards now make rice varieties with ‘as-you-wish’ grain composition available to international consumers.
